Loco ~ Nutz Presents The Inaugural Costa Maya Folk ~ n ~ Blues in Paradise Fiesta ~ val |

| Thanks Largely to serendipity (and a last minute Brasilian Visa snafu) the opportunistic Loco~locals of Playa Sonrisa scrambled on short notice to bring together the necesary elements to pull off a Night of Acoustic Folk & Blues Music in the sleepy little fishing village of Xcalak. Hosted by The Leaky Palapa, Xcalak's most charming restaurant & night spot Colorado Bluesman Johnny Ohnmacht, founder of the Johnny O Band graciously interupted his vacation to play his heart out to a room full of happy & appreciative local characters on a borrowed guitar. |
The Costa Maya Folk ~ n ~ Blues in Paradise Fiesta~val is a NO-Profit Disorganization Sponsored by Hotel Playa Sonrisa |

| Shot glass donated by Loco~Nutz Apres Ski Bar & Grill - official sponsor of the Costa Maya Folk ~ n ~ Blues Fiesta~val Special Gracias go out to: Paula Preston for her handmade 'Official Costa Maya Blues Fest Apparel' Steve Dramstad - Official Festival Photographer, and to ALL the Ladies of The Leaky Palapa - purveyors of the 'OfficialCosta Maya Bluesfest Grouperburger' and cocktail slingers extraordinaire! |

| Johnny O really worked the room, playing 2 lengthy sets comprised mostly of his own original soulful blues compositions with a few familiar folk / rock standards mixed in. |

| Included were covers of such diverse artists as B.B. King, Van Morrison, Lowell George, Robbie Robertson, Jimmie Buffet and particularly appropriate to this setting Jerry Jeff Walker's "Just Another Gringo in Belize" |
| But the highlight of the evening to this seriously live-music-starved audience was when Johnny improvised with a Tequila Shot glass as a slide tool to rip some sizzilin' hot blues slide guitar! Which inspired a few of the Local Locos to get off their nalgas and onto the dance floor. All in all it was a Good Good Day in Xcalak ! |
